About

Buki Long

Owner/President of Bujikon Studios

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be involved with media in some way. From making home made movies starting as young as seven-years-old to full feature length films by the time I was eighteen, the art of film making has sort of consumed me. I went to school at Indiana University to study film/video design and production and I also studied interactive media design extensively there. In addition, I earned an MBA from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Throughout all of this schooling, one thing has remained the same; my love for making digital media.

For the longest time, I just wanted to make movies. You know, be the next Hitchcock or Spielberg. Now I want to focus more on helping people preserve their moments in time. Help companies put themselves out there for the masses. Help couples remember their wedding in a stylish and affordable way. Help bands record their first record. The list really goes on and on. I want to help people be successful. If I can do that, I will know that I am a success.

Gabriel Long

Senior Audio Engineer

I was born in Portland, OR and grew up in Terre Haute, IN. As a child, my siblings and I were always making silly little films to pass the time. We were also avid movie goers and were always up with pop culture as far as film. In middle school I became very fond of music and picked up the guitar, which I still play to this day. I stayed in Terre Haute until I was done with high school and moved away for college.

I went to college at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL where I completed an Associates in Recording Arts. My education gave me not only more confidence as a musician/artist but as a person. I met lots of like minded people who were from very different backgrounds, which gave me a whole different perspective on the world. It was a great opportunity for networking and building friendships with present and future workers of the media industry.

Story Behind The Name

When I was just 15-years-old, I went and got my first job. It was at a movie theater. I remember during the interview, my soon-to-be employer was looking over my application. He looked at my name and proceeded to say,

“So, Bujikon, tell me something about yourself that’s interesting!”

I laughed and said, “Well, my name is Bukijon, not Bujikon, but everyone just calls me Buki.” We laughed and went on with the interview. I told this story to my older brother that night and he thought it was so great that he just started calling me Bujikon all the time.

It’s funny to me how oddities and “mistakes” can be turned into something positive. I try to keep this in mind whenever I’m working on a project. Although things do not always go according to plan, there is always a way to make it work in the end. I’m basically putting my name on the line, literally, with every piece of work that I do.
